Cox Mountain Trail

1.5 mi moderate Loop Blaze: red circle ↑ 500 ft

Rocky loop trail climbing to the highest point in Eno River State Park. Moderate elevation gain with some scrambling near the summit. The approach follows the river before turning uphill at the Buckquarter Creek junction.

History

Cox Mountain was historically used as a quarry site. Stone remnants are still visible along the descent trail.

Highest point on the trail. Small clearing with partial views through the trees. Trail continues down the back side.

Main trailhead at the Fews Ford parking area. Trail starts across the bridge over the Eno River.
